Maurice Kitchen

Executive Creative Director 

As executive creative director, Maurice Kitchen leads the creative vision, ideation, strategy and execution for LAGRANT COMMUNICATIONS. With over 20 years of advertising and marketing experience, Maurice combines his talent and expertise to translate the African American experience to the benefit of both clients and the community.

 

Maurice currently leads the team executing campaigns for The Center at Sierra Health Foundation regarding COVID-19.

 

Throughout his career, Maurice has helmed numerous award-winning ad campaigns that have won him five national first-place Silver Microphone Awards. Past clients include CalTrans, Metro-Link, AQMD (Air Quality Management District), Metropolitan Water District and Southern California Edison. For six years, he was the exclusive broadcast producer for the California Lottery's African American market creative executions. Recently, Maurice served as the creative director for Covered California’s African American executions, as well as lead copywriter and creative for print and radio for Hyundai USA’s African American advertising campaign.

 

Maurice has established a reputation for developing marketing and communications strategies that brand identities and effectively communicate clients’ objectives. Maurice specializes primarily in broadcast, print and social media platforms targeting the African American community, and has an extensive background in managing the special needs of healthcare and public utility accounts.

 

Maurice began his career as a passionate and award-winning playwright, director and producer. One of his proudest accomplishments includes an NAACP Theatre Award for Best Director of a Musical Play for an original stage musical that he also wrote and produced.

 

He holds a bachelor’s degree in radio and television production from the University of Illinois.
