Our team has a long standing history providing strategic counsel and media outreach to support Community Health Councils (CHC). We are currently working with CHC on the First 5 LA Best Start Communities in South LA and Compton program. The following is a campaign developed to support CHC in raising awareness of the importance of hypertension screening and management in African American and Hispanic communities.   

 

The Know Your Digits! Be In Control. campaign was funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention with the aim to raise awareness of the importance of hypertension screening and management in African American and Hispanic communities in the county of Los Angeles. Today, one in three Los Angeles County residents are not aware that they have high blood pressure and therefore do not have it controlled.  The goal for the Community Health Councils was to develop and execute a community outreach and media relations campaign to raise awareness of hypertension among African Americans and Hispanics. Our team secured the participation of more than 40 community based organizations, generated 41 media placements (143 percent over goal) and executed a kick-off event with an attendance reach of 20 percent over the intended goal.
