As managing director of the Financial Services Practice, Sherice oversees the day-to-day activities for the Union Bank and MetLife accounts.  Under her direction, the firm’s financial services clients apply an integrated communication approach to gain maximum exposure in multiethnic consumer markets.  She uses her established media relationships to strategically position clients’ key messages.  In addition, she conducts community relations and interacts with community leaders on a regular basis.  Sherice also assists in new business development and works on special projects that range from corporate to nonprofit to public affairs.

Sherice remains committed to the small business community.  As founder of SLB Associates, she promotes economic development and financial independence through small business development, providing business services and professional resources to a diverse business clientele.  She also provides marketing and public relations services through print, broadcast and electronic media communications.  Projects vary and have included acting as press secretary to a former member of council for the City of Inglewood, to pitching business seminars and motivational speakers.  In addition, she writes business-related articles and media materials for distribution to local publications.

Sherice has extensive experience teaching business and entrepreneurship development.  As an instructor at West Los Angeles College she teaches Business Communications and Small Business Entrepreneurship courses where she provides students with information on entering and competing in the world of globalization and the characteristics, roles and responsibilities of entrepreneurs and small business owners.  Sherice has also taught in the entrepreneurial training program at Pacific Coast Regional Small Business Development Corporation.  During the 8-week program, participants explore topics such as business basics; organization structure and design; business marketing and plan development; intellectual property; and managerial finance.

Sherice holds a bachelor’s degree in management from The Graziadio School of Business, Pepperdine University.  She holds an MBA in International Business from the University of La Verne and an advanced certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from the Canadian Institute of English.

Sherice has actively served in the African American community.  She understands the importance of relationship building and has ties with prominent members of several well-established organizations.  Memberships have included the Urban Financial Services Coalition (UFSC), a nonprofit organization promoting the growth and development of minority professionals in the financial services industry.  Sherice proudly engaged in UFSC’s “100 Homes in 100 Days” project, focusing on financial literacy leading to home ownership and wealth building.

Sherice also served as vice chair and secretary for the Los Angeles Minority Business Opportunity Committee (LAMBOC), for the Mayor’s Office of Economic Development.

In her spare time, Sherice enjoys relaxing with a smooth cup of java and any book that encourages positive thinking, self-improvement and professional development.
