As a senior account executive, Darius assists in the California Wellness Foundation, MetLife and Southern California Edison accounts by providing media and community relations services. Darius also conducts research on trends and demographics; seeks out partnership opportunities for clients in the African American Consumer Market; and assists with event planning.

Prior to joining the firm Darius worked on the American Film Institute Festival 2007 where he coordinated the pre-fest media outreach and post-festival publicity research. In addition he worked closely with the event director to ensure timely management of red-carpet arrivals, introductions and an organized flow for key event sponsors.

Darius also held various positions for Carlson Restaurants Worldwide (CRW). As an associate manager, he managed T.G.I. Friday’s menu design and layout and reviewed and approved work with internal legal departments to ensure compliance with trademark requirements. During his time as a communications coordinator, Darius planned and executed public relations campaigns for major events, developed internal communications materials and oversaw the day-to-day operations of the corporate intranet.

Darius’ experience ranges from the private to the nonprofit sectors. He served as a media relations/communications associate for World Vision where he provided media support and counsel to the media relations manager. Additionally, he was the development/fundraising chairman for the Southern Methodist University Mustang Marathon for Pediatric HIV/AIDS where he created and implemented programs to increase charitable donations to Bryan’s House and Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. Darius also provided support for the pharmaceutical, consumer and public affairs accounts at Burson-Marsteller. In addition, he developed media materials for Southwest Airlines and wrote articles for the company’s in-flight magazine SPIRIT.

Darius holds a bachelor’s degree in Corporate Communications and Public Affairs from Southern Methodist University (SMU). During his tenure at SMU, Darius participated in the SMU-in-Spain Study Abroad Program and was part of the Communications Honor Society Kappa Tau Alpha.

In his spare time, Darius enjoys writing and volunteering with the American Film Institute.
