As vice president/group account director, Charisse Browner is the lead for the Harley-Davidson Motor Company accounts. She manages the day-to-day activities for the African American consumer market as it relates to Harley-Davidson’s product communications and market outreach efforts. Charisse also interacts with national media outlets and community leaders on a regular basis, represents the firm at events, bidders’ conferences and new business presentations.
In addition, Charisse manages an account team and provides senior and strategic counsel, media and community relations for Southern California Edison, Union Bank of California, the City of Los Angeles Department of Public Works, The California Wellness Foundation, American Cancer Society and MetLife.
Charisse brings 12 years of corporate and nonprofit management; media and community relations; event planning and implementation; and fundraising experience to the firm. She was public affairs director for KPWR 106 FM for more than eight years and president/
executive director for eleven years for the station’s nonprofit fund, Knowledge Is Power. Charisse also served as the host and producer of KPWR’s top-ranked live community broadcast, the Knowledge Is Power show. Charisse managed the talent and guest appearances, commercial copy live read, listener interaction, and the clients’ community outreach needs.
During her tenure at KPWR 106 FM, Charisse was instrumental in implementing various marketing campaigns targeting the Latino community with notable companies such as Nike, State Farm, Subway, WaMu, Cash for College, LAUSD, Sam’s Club, and a list of others.
Prior to joining KPWR 106 FM, Charisse was the merchandise manager and co-creator for Motown Record Company’s Mo-Gear clothing line, overseeing promotional merchandise requests and product design. Moreover, utilizing her paralegal skills helped Motown manage their legal department as it related to mechanical licensing agreements and royalty statements.
Charisse is professionally known for her creativity, organizational skills, professional demeanor and expertise in partnering with community leaders and major corporations and is highly skilled in developing community outreach programs and cause-marketing campaigns. Her motto is “Results Beyond Your Expectations.”
Charisse attended UCLA Extension with a concentration in Entertainment Contracts and Law. She has earned certificates from Research Associates as a Certified Grants Specialist and Columbia Business School for Paralegal and Legal Secretary studies. In her spare time, Charisse conducts parent-training workshops for E.M.G. (Educate~Motivate~Graduate) Enterprise, a nonprofit organization she co-founded in 2004. She is also an avid Koi fish collector and enjoys making trips with her daughter to UC Berkeley to watch her son play on Cal’s football team.
